Not Born But Made!

Many people, and soccer fans, sees these man and woman as brave and skillful individuals on the soccer field. However, one thing they always manage to over look is that these number 10s are normal people with two legs, as all the other players. Yes, friends these number 10s all learned the game the same way as some of us did; many of them took the long and harder route. Some had no mentor but those that they see around and on the televisions.
These number 10s are human beings just like you and I. They the real difference is that they only have more at stake than you! I will disclose this to you, for one they hate to lose but they embrace it if it comes with a good fight! These true number 10s can focus on only one thing and that is to destroy any team that they are playing against. By being so focus on winning and leadership, the number 10 will do whatever the job requires. To win- will help them quench the past flames of defeat and training. Even winning will help them to quench the self hate feelings of all those critics that said that “They would not be a good soccer player,” when they started out.
At the beginning many were pushed by great coaches that have noticed the mark of the number 10 (characteristics) hidden within these players but yet still undeveloped. Some players started to play well because they were just tired of the B.S. from many coaches that also would say the opposite! A few of these number 10s learn the game by their dad, or mother. Some were sentence to summer soccer camps because parents wanted them to do something physical. While others were fans and got tired of watching and tried to play soccer. Many were so foolish at soccer at first, that they got tired of all the negative criticisms from teammates and coaches and others. Then, they decided to go the extra mile- to the mark of the higher calling and to up hold the standards of the Number 10!
Many of these number 10s when asked about their early days of soccer, some would remember one stupid moment or the worst mistake they have ever made. Then, they would just laugh!
A few of these number 10s would recalled days when they had no money
to buy their soccer cleats or could their parents pay their way into the soccer stardom. Some would remember selling oranges and lemonades within the streets to gather enough money to buy their first cleats. Some would cut lawns on the week ends while others would just go and knock on doors within the communities and received many No. Nos. One recalled that his grandmother bought him is first cleats because his parents didn’t really liked soccer or any thing about it, but today they are apart of his fan club. Some would dream about the greats and vision every moments as if it was theirs.
In spite, the many reasons for these players to stumble upon soccer, remains unknown but only a few, took a bigger step into the secret world of the number 10, by learning how to never quit! The journey was long and very difficult, with many obstacles, but we have arrived, and the world loves us! Even, though fans can only see our skills and victories displayed on the soccer field but only if the world can see what we have being through to be here! To many number 10s, soccer is an escape from the world that they love and live in!
